OUR IMPACT
Throughout our journey, we have put our experience and knowledge at the service of the struggles and resistance of a wide variety of indigenous, community organizations, and social movements in Latin America.
Some of the thematic areas in which we have had a positive impact are:
FOREST AND BIODIVERSITY
We are facing a dystopian scenario of loss of forests and biodiversity. It is necessary to act now to protect them.
FAIR ENERGY TRANSITION
We seek to raise awareness of just energy transitions, extractive and mining industries and their impacts on territories, people and biodiversity.
YOUTH
Our approach fosters youth participation and political engagement on key issues in the region.
RIGHTS DEFENDERS
We fight for real respect for human rights as a fundamental pillar to guarantee that all people can live with dignity.
INDIGENOUS PEOPLES
Respect for autonomy, self-determination, full recognition and respect for the local and ancestral cultural rights of indigenous and black peoples are fundamental ethical principles for Colmena Lab.
FOOD SOVEREIGNTY
We promote fair and sustainable food systems that protect crop diversity and ensure equitable access to healthy food. We defend community participation and fundamental rights.
CLIMATE CHANGE
We work together with several agents of change to carry out advocacy and awareness processes around the threats, solutions and defense of rights related to climate change.
CLIMATE JUSTICE
Communication, persuasion and advocacy are key to advancing the search for real, effective and just solutions to climate change.
INTERSECTIONALITY
We work on intersectional initiatives that seek to establish new proposals and dynamics towards equality while respecting diversity.
MIGRATION AND REFUGE
People have the right to freedom of movement, refuge and asylum, regardless of their reasons. We all have the right to have a life without violence.
EXTRACTIVISM
We believe that it is urgent to build new non-extractive models that do not affect people, forests, oceans and life.
