This was a global communication and advocacy campaign in which 60 indigenous and community leaders toured 7 European cities (Cologne, Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam, London, Berlin, and Bonn) in 5 countries (Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and England) to meet with high-level political figures prior to the start of the COP23 negotiations held in Bonn, Germany.
As part of this campaign, various political, symbolic, and media actions were carried out in the main cities of Europe.
Several events were held in each of the major European cities to allow representatives of indigenous and local communities to share their experiences with the aim of raising awareness among politicians, media outlets, and civil society organizations on the defense of Indigenous Peoples’ rights and the support of their proposals to save their communities, territories, and forests for the benefit of the planet.
